What a result for Team Dalziel with Madam Mouton bolting in at Stawell for inform Linda Meech today.
That’s 11 individual winners (so far) from our 2015 crop of yearlings!
Madam Mouton, Henpecker and Essaka made it three winners in 7 days for Dalziel Racing, with a huge few days ahead on the track as we approach Cox Plate weekend. The team will be looking to build on our recent success with Startacular, Zolani, Bringaroo and VRC Oaks contender Harlow Gold all set to run in the coming days.
The big 7 days on the track started with bargain buy Essaka at Wangaratta last Tuesday with the $20,000 daughter of Equiano chalking up win number 2 from just 5 career starts. And you guessed it, Linda Meech was in the saddle for Caulfield Cup winning trainer Ciaron Maher.
3 days later promising staying filly Henpecker greeted the started at Cranbourne, first up over 1400m after making her debut in the Donald Classic back in April. The daughter of Rip Van Winkle was purchased at the 2015 NZ Karaka Sales and looks to have a bright future as we focus our attention on the autumn staying features for the 3yo. Another winner for Dalziel Racing and Ciaron Maher!
We rounded out the big week at Stawell this afternoon with 3 length winner Madam Mouton breaking through in fine style. After 3 promising starts the daughter of Sebring put it all together today as she trounced her rivals over 1300m. And yes, you guessed again it was the super combination of Dalziel Racing, Linda Meech and Ciaron Maher. Trainer Ciaron Maher believes this filly has plenty of upside heading in to a 3yo autumn campaign and today’s breakthrough victory will only benefit the filly as she continues to learn her craft.
If there is one message to take out of the last week of winners it has to be that our omen horse to follow this week has to be last start winner Zolani – Team Dalziel, Ciaron Maher Trained and Linda Meech to ride!
